How to Sift Paydirt

TIP: Sift paydirt in the sun or bright lighting to better identify your findings.

  1. Place the sifter over the bucket of water and pour a small amount of paydirt into the sifter.
  2. Submerge the sifter in the water. Gently shake it side to side to wash away the sand and reveal the findings.
  3. Repeat steps one and two with the remaining paydirt.
  4. Sift through the sand at the bottom of the bucket of water in case you missed small findings.
  5. Rinse your findings in clean water and lay them out to dry. Enjoy your treasures!
